Research

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College has an active clinical research program as part of our mission to advance the science of rehabilitation. Major research areas include the application of technology and other treatments to enhance stroke rehabilitation, and improving outcomes in management of back pain and related disorders. Recent stroke rehabilitation studies have included investigations of the impact of upper extremity robotics on the recovery of movement and the effect of electrical stimulation therapy on walking after stroke.

The department also maintains a registry of stroke survivors who wish to be on our contact list so that our research staff can contact these individuals about possible participation in clinical studies. To sign up for this registry, please click here.

Current studies include:

PDF icon Nerve stimulation device plus occuptional therapy study for stroke patients ages 22-80
